Who’s Flesh Are You Walking After? So Has Distress Over Taken You Yet?

As we look around we find ourselves trying to fend off physical things in life. For example, emotional conflicts, attacks from from diseases, stresses from work and, last but not least, for some spiritual conflicts with one’s self or other.

According to the Washington Post, 22 percent of people in conflict-affected areas have mental disorders. Now that coronavirus has reshape
these areas, people are asking, “where do I go from here?” I’m sorry to say that many individuals resort or revert to a negative mind set with instincts based upon an emotional and primitive form of survival behavior that can pit man against man and woman against woman. Some might call it survival of the fittest. Some will even resort to violence over little things like chicken sandwiches. As in the case of this pandemic, they fight over toilet tissue, paper towels, and sanitizer, disinfectant wipes and cleaning supplies. Some people will do just about anything to save their life in this world, only to loose it in the world to come. What I’m saying is, why try to set your heart and mind on this life here and now, when this world is going to pass away? For all of you who claim to be a Child of the One and only true God, are you awake now or are you still asleep?

Matthew 16:24-28 says “24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26 For what is a man profited, if he shall
gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. 28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

All of you have heard me ask this question over and over again: why are you looking at what others have, desiring to have what they supposedly have? Why spend the best years of your life trying to obtain the so-called American dream, or what ever dream your county aspires to or to whatever your hope might be in this life? Why are you so concerned about trying to obtain things in this life or acquiring a particular lifestyle in this world and it’s negative subjugation reinforcements that are in it which are leading you down the road of pain and emotional instability? This will even lead to a life of death with there is no return.

Romans 8:5-18 says:
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall
also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption,
whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

In my Conclusion read Luke 17:1-37.

In Jesus name. Amen.

Be Thou Enlightened, Reminded, and Encouraged!

As we we move in our walk in Christ, we can not allow ourselves to soon forget that Satan or his minions never sleep as men do, nor do they require sustenance to exist. So while their mission is to defeat you by placing stumbling blocks in your Christian walk, they do not rest nor do they take vacations, for their sole purpose is to delay your understanding and relationship with God. They will not sleep nor give up on this quest and that is why we have to be aware of the Devil’s tricks and antics as the Word reads in 2 Corinthians 2:11, “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

So let’s not forget, brothers and sisters that we stand strong and be not dismayed at the things that we are going through, be they things of our faith and the hardening of our resolve, to never give up nor surrender to the systematic attacks of the devil or his minions.

In the Bible, Jesus had encountered this in the book of Matthew 4:1-11:

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

It’s so important that we remember what the Lord said in the book of Matthew 5:

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of
heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to
fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother
without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing. Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. It hath been said, whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not
make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto
you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good,
and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

My conclusion: Is this world, as we go about our daily walk in Christ, we should always remember to be mindful of what we say, mindful of how we act toward others at all times, and not offend others while watching
our attitudes in the trials and tests.

If You’re in a Panic Due to COVID, Why Not With a Virus of Sin?

As COVID-19 has ravaged our nation, many people are really seeing the devastating affects on lives. People are being so effected by this virus that they literally will do just about anything to keep from getting it. And on the other hand, there are those who don’t even believe that it is real. So they will go about not following any of the warnings that the medical scientist have publicized. They would go about being the very ones who would go around buying up and hoarding all the supplies and then selling them at exuberant price. For example, one man went around to 3 states, buying all of the hand sanitizer, thinking as an opportunist would to make a profit. Another individual bought up most of the paper supplies, and another bought up all the masks in the first few months of the pandemic. Oftentimes tough situations bring out the real heart in a person. Sheer panic, usually leads to a sudden change in character and personality. Sometimes ours good deeds are not good enough because the intention of our heart in doing the deeds, stems from a subjugated heart. The word of God has this to say about it in Luke 6:43-49:

43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. 46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? 47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when
the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Now it amazing how in this pandemic some people are afraid of the person next to them, even people in their own family. So they try their best to find many types of ways to protect themselves. This is due to the fact that when people are faced with the an imminent and present danger, they
quickly change to self-preservation and the preservation of their loved ones. But when the threat is of a lesser and slower subverting nature, we take a lackadaisical mind set about the threat that is killing us ever so slowly through subjugation and cunningness. Why is this?

Matthew 16:24-28
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. 26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. 28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

In my conclusion, remember Philippians 4:6-13:
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are
of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be
abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Now that you have heard, go live and perform the has purpose Jesus has for your life. Selah.

Being Lost in the Details of Sin, Still Will Not Get You In

How many of you ever heard the phase, “God is in the details?” Well this was attributed to a German architect, by the name of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, who was born March 27, 1886 having died August 17, 1969. But in the 1990s, the phase was change to, “The devil is in the details.” So saints and ‘aints, I really believe the changing of that phrasing has a deeper connotation than what you can see with your present understanding. While living in this world, in a lot of ways we’re constantly entering in some form of a contract either intentionally or unintentionally. In any case, we enter in an agreement a lot of times without looking at any of the details. Some of you have heard this phrase before: “Look at the fine print,” or “read the bottom line,” or “look into the details” to see the binding agreement to the contract. For some of us, this is the story of our lives. Sometimes we may enter into a verbal contract. A verbal contract is the same as a written one without hearing the full details. Some will enter a contract or agreement without getting a clear and precise understanding of what they’re opening themselves too.

This usually winds up in you paying a half cost in the functionality of your life. In one form or another, it affect us either physically, mentally, soulfully or in all three areas, thereby leading you down a different path than what God has planned for you from the beginning. Here’s a little phrase you might remember from the old school: “don’t sign a contract your butt can’t pay for.”

In the book of Luke 14:26-33 says this:
26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have
sufficient to finish it? 29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. 33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

After having failed at this myself in ways, the Lord God gave these pointers we should be aware of and gave do consideration of:

A. What type of contract is it
B. What is the duration of it
C. Will this harm me or others
D. What benefits am I or will I get if any
E. What do I have to give up or give in to
F. Will Jesus approve of it

There is an old saying which is very simple: “You better ask some body.” We allow lots of agreements and contracts pass by us because our lack of understand.

Proverbs 3:5-7 says this:
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

In every agreement or contract you enter into there are always sub-contracts attached that you have agreed to as well and sometimes you might enter into a contract that is both written and verbal. This is understood or a given.

Remember this, “when in a storm don’t be so much concern with the intensity or the direction it’s coming from, but keep control of the affect on your heart and mind, that they stay intact.

2 Timothy 2:3-5 says:
3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive
lawfully.

Also, Luke 14:28-33 says:
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. 33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

That’s why, in most cases it’s best just to be quite. And also, “weight it before you say it.

James 1:19-22 says:
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. 21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

So now that you have heard the Word of God, is your foundation strong enough in Jesus Christ to stand in these evil days?

It is so.

If You Compromise Your Walk in Christ, You’re Living a Lie Before Jesus’ Eyes

Have you ever been in a compromising situation or in a conversation where a question was asked of you in which that person wanted you to tell them the truth about themselves? Now the question arises in you mind, that sounds something like this: “why would they ask me a question like this?” Now in your mind you’re torn being straightforward or compromise yourself by telling them a little soft fluff instead of telling them the truth about themselves. How many times did you not tell someone the real truth because you where afraid of hurting their feelings? Or you didn’t tell a person the truth, due to the fact that it would expose the real you? There is a famous quote of 1808 by Sir Walter Scott: “Oh, what a tangled web we
weave when first we practice to deceive.” It’s so important that we do not get in a habit of compromise, because it only destroys you and causes mistrust in others.

2 Timothy 2:4-5 says:
4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

You must never forget you’re at war for you soul! Some of you may say, didn’t Christ die for us? Yes He did and He also made a way for us to go back with Him too, but one thing you need to know is that you need to come to Him fully and desire Him plus deny yourself. Let’s see what the Word of God says.

Mark 8:34-38 says:
34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

So the cost if you want to call it such, is that you cleave to Jesus Christ for your soul’s sake and not walk after the dark, no matter how temping it may be to you senses and emotions. A lot of times we tend to gravitate to things that we feel are right but we know it’s wrong, yet for the sake of saving face, we will go through with something even though we know it’s the wrong thing to do. In other words we compromise ourselves. This plays havoc on our soul and our relationship with Jesus Christ who we say we love.

2 Timothy 3:1-17 says:

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their’s also was. 10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

In my Conclusion: We have to be a light and an example for the world to see in our everyday lives.

Read with me James 1:21-27
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meeknessthe engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he
being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. 26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father
is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

For extra reading take a look at 2 Corinthians 6:14-17, and Proverbs 14:12-17
In Jesus name it is so!
