We’ve Come This Far by Faith

Who or even what are we? Sometime in the coarse of our human existence, we’ve tried to move and live this life independent of others to carve out our own form of existence; only to come to this most awesome and very wise conclusion: We cannot do what we desire to achieve in life without help from another human being. God designed it that way, as we see in the narrative of Genesis where Yahweh God created all things.

18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Genesis 2:18

In this world of turmoil, confusion and the lack of confidence in one’s self, you need someone in your life to settle the feelings of longing and sometimes emotional, spiritual, and mental load sharing, to take you through another day. Now, what I just described to you is a day in the life of an average person in the world. So if this is what a person in this world needs, they are echoed when it comes to being a true follower of Jesus Christ as well.

As in the world you need to have someone that you can confide in, that won’t sell you away for some change. You can’t rely just on anybody. There is a quote that said, “You can’t choose your family, but you can choose your friends.” That’s where a true follower of Jesus Christ problems lie. So often we become so desperate, looking for the close to ideal friend or friends that we begin to settle for anything, to quiet that longing voice inside. We start to compromise our hearts, which in turn compromises our walk in Jesus Christ, leaving us open to attract forms of demonic influence.

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

2 Corinthians 6:14

This statement just doesn’t mean with a mate only, but also when looking for a friend. A Child of God shouldn’t try to find a friend but allow the Holy Ghost to fit you together to be yoked together.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

In order to have friends, the Bible reads that you must show yourself friendly (Proverbs 18:24). So don’t be overwhelmed and preoccupied with this mind, because it will lead to getting worn.

1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. 3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. 4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For every man shall bear his own burden. 6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Galatians 6:1-9

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. 14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. I’ll leave you with these word, remember who you serve, for your was bought with a price.

Romans 12:1-21

Amen.
