We’ve Come This Far by Faith

Who or even what are we? Sometime in the coarse of our human existence, we’ve tried to move and live this life independent of others to carve out our own form of existence; only to come to this most awesome and very wise conclusion: We cannot do what we desire to achieve in life without help from another human being. God designed it that way, as we see in the narrative of Genesis where Yahweh God created all things.

18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Genesis 2:18

In this world of turmoil, confusion and the lack of confidence in one’s self, you need someone in your life to settle the feelings of longing and sometimes emotional, spiritual, and mental load sharing, to take you through another day. Now, what I just described to you is a day in the life of an average person in the world. So if this is what a person in this world needs, they are echoed when it comes to being a true follower of Jesus Christ as well.

As in the world you need to have someone that you can confide in, that won’t sell you away for some change. You can’t rely just on anybody. There is a quote that said, “You can’t choose your family, but you can choose your friends.” That’s where a true follower of Jesus Christ problems lie. So often we become so desperate, looking for the close to ideal friend or friends that we begin to settle for anything, to quiet that longing voice inside. We start to compromise our hearts, which in turn compromises our walk in Jesus Christ, leaving us open to attract forms of demonic influence.

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

2 Corinthians 6:14

This statement just doesn’t mean with a mate only, but also when looking for a friend. A Child of God shouldn’t try to find a friend but allow the Holy Ghost to fit you together to be yoked together.

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

In order to have friends, the Bible reads that you must show yourself friendly (Proverbs 18:24). So don’t be overwhelmed and preoccupied with this mind, because it will lead to getting worn.

1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2 Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. 3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. 4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5 For every man shall bear his own burden. 6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. 7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Galatians 6:1-9

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. 14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. I’ll leave you with these word, remember who you serve, for your was bought with a price.

Romans 12:1-21

Amen.

What is “Tag You’re It?”

Main Passage: Matthew 22-23
Do you remember when we were young, and played different games? Hide and go seek. Remember the song we sung? “Last night and the night before 24 robins knock at the door, I got to let them in, then I hit them in the head with a rollin’ pin are you ready?!” Or this one: “2 pounds of washing powder, 2 pound of soap, all not ready holler billy goat, lol.” Needless to say, I had an interesting childhood. Do you remember stick ball? Or I Know all of you remember Tag, You’re It? When you were it, everybody would run away from you because you were it. Even though we did not know what “it” was, we felt bad and even sometimes would get mad. There was always the kid that would take you to your limit, you know.
My subject today is Tag, Your’re It. Lets look at the word tag.
Tag: a descriptive word or phrase applied to a person, group, organization, etc., as a label or means of identification; epithet. or Hashtag: (on social-networking Web sites) a word or phrase preceded by a hash mark (#), used within a message to identify a keyword or topic of interest and facilitate a search for it:
Have you ever been Tagged as “IT” or have you ever done something that made people associate you with a type of person, group or a kind of behavior?  Are they justified? Are some of you carrying a Tag you just can’t shake?
For some of you, that Tag has destroyed your name, reputation, even your life as a Christian.
The Word reads in Mark 8:38
Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
I remember when I lived on the farm, I went to a county school where if you got caught doing something wrong you had to sit on a stool in a corner with a dunce pointed hat on your head  And you had to sit there that whole period in the corner in front of the class quiet with that dunce hat on you head. Have you been dogged so much in your Christian life that you fill like that kid that sat in that corner? Have you just given up and tried to hide being a Child of God because of what someone said about you or acted towards you?
The Word reads in Galatians 1:10:
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
Jesus is saying its time to take the Tag off and live for Him totally by changing who you are to what you should be in Him.
In the Bible reads in Roman 12:2
And be not conformed to this world:but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. And always remember
2 Corinthians 8:20-21
Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us: Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
Peter 2:11-12
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles:that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
Matt. 5:22-23

But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

In my conclusion I’ll say this: whatever Tag that has been placed on you from wherever the Bible lets us know in Hebrew 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
You just got to let it go or your bound for a TKO as one song writer wrote.
