Obedience to Instruction Brings Results

Joshua 6:1, Proverbs 15:5, Respectively

Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in.

A fool despiseth his father’s instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

Obedience the Bible says is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22). Obedience to instruction brings results. If we look at the word obedience it means to submit to the strength or command of authority. Instructions, lessons, precepts, demands, and orders; to teach orally; to inform.

If you want God to do something, then you need to be obedient to His instructions “will”. Today, people don’t want to listen to anybody. They have their own thought, they know what they want to do and say; they know what’s right for them and what’s right for you too. The Bible tells us, the blind will lead the blind and both will fall in a ditch. It also says they will heap unto themselves teachers after their own flesh. This is what is happing today. Obedience to the instruction of God allows God to operate on your behalf. You shouldn’t sit there and question God. Now asking Him how something should be done is good, but asking why you should do it, is bad.

If you look at your life, your marriage especially, when you say I do, and they get to the part where you must promise to love and obey, until death do you part. Many women are reluctant at the word obedient. The husband is not to be a tyrant over you, but you both are to be together in the household. The Bible says that we must obey the one that has rule over us.

Now, what would have happened if Joshua didn’t follow the plan that he was given from God about walking around Jericho? Nothing. He would have been defeated and over taken by the enemy because of disobedience. When you are given instructions, make sure those instructions are from God and not of your flesh because you want to see certain things go your way. If you continually disregard instructions in your life, then results that you would desire to happen in your life won’t happen. If someone is telling you to do something, follow instructions. Yet use wisdom, make sure the instructions make sense. Be obedient to instruction that is righteous, wise, logical, won’t put you or others in danger, and is clear instructions.

The Word says that the steps of a righteous man are ordered by God. The structure, the movement. So that when you are getting obedient instruction, God says He wants you to walk a certain way: Treat your neighbor as yourself, keep His words, don’t drink or smoke, go to this certain church because there will be someone there to train you to be what God wants you to be. So if you decide not to go to that particular Church because the church doesn’t have this and it doesn’t have that; it doesn’t meet your specifications so you don’t go to that church. So your result will be negative. God will put you through multiple tests to adhere you to his obedience. He chastens the ones He loves.

The point is you have to be obedient to instruction. If you are out of step, whose order are you in? When you are given instruction in the house of God, if the Pastor or Lady gives you instruction; if God directly gives you instruction, be obedient. Many people don’t want to do what the word of God says, but they think they will go to heaven. If several babies are in a room with their mothers, and one of the babies cries out, will all the mothers get up? No, only the mother whom that child belongs to. The same thing with God, He will take his children who have been obedient to Him, who has done His will. Not those who have never done anything for Him. Out of all of that, if we are obedient to the will of God, you will get the results that He wants for you.

Don’t be misinformed, don’t take everything for granted, don’t try to do things your way, do it God’s way. Take your instructions from the Holy Ghost, and He will lead you and guide you to all truth, and you will never fail.

Cast not your Youth to the World, Serve Jesus While you Can

Don’t Cast Away your Youth to the World, but Serve the Lord While You can

Ecclesiastes 11:1-10, 12:1-14

Ecclesiastes 11:1-10

Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be. He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun: But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity.  Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.

This is talking about those who were once young who are now old. You once were in your teens, and now your in your twenties; you were once in your thirties and now your in your fifties or older. The Word of God is letting us know that, when you were in your youth did you think about the things of God? Most of the time the answer will be know. When you were in your youth did you think about where your life would be in the future? Again, some say no. Young men go out and try to find girls, and do things not conducive to their health. When your in your youth, you do things that are really daring. You think your impervious to death; you think you’ll live forever; you take no care for your life, and take dangerous chances. Not realizing that your whole life is being conducted by your surroundings. The Bible talks about being cheerful in your heart ,for young men of today you chase the girls, you dated many of girl and done thing you shouldn’t, you stole this…all these different things you did. The things is that you must remember when you get older, you shouldn’t still act with this same mentality and doing the same thing, the Word says in verse 9 “…but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgement.”

What have you done from your youth to now? What have you done in your life? What have you accomplished? Have you sought the God you heard others speak of? Have you even considered? Are you pursuing God, or the desires in this world for yourself? We who are in the Church tend to forget about our youths, allowing them to do certain things with the attitude that they will learn from their mistakes or with the mindset that that behavior is normal for youths. Yet, these youths same negative actions have followed them into their adulthood, and they are doing the same things. That same sin becomes generational. The Bible says in Proverbs 22:6 “train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” If you have taught them negatively in the world, you will get negative results.

Dad’s have sons, and before that father understood the truth, he would tell his son “Its OK for the young man to go out and sow his oats.” It is not OK, because your messing up a young woman’s life, having intimate relations with her. Now she has nothing to offer the man who really truly falls in love with, so you have taken something away from her that can not be replaced. And after it all over the dad pats his son on the back, and say to his son good jobs as through it was a right of passage into man hood, but what about the young woman, what about her life what if she got pregnant or a std?.

In her youth as a young woman, she should take note of who she is and try to improve herself, she should be more conscientious of her lifestyle, not to have a loose lifestyle. She should have one of sobriety, understanding and wisdom. They say that a young woman matures faster than a young man. Yet why does she pursue a young man, knowing that he can’t do anything for her mentally, but only physically. Do you need to do this because your mother did the same, or your grandmother? The sins of disobedience parents will be passed down to the children. If you live in sin, the same generational curse will follow. Now you are insecure, or a gossip or a fornicator because your mother, grandmother, or family did the same things.

These are the indications of your youth that cause you to be bound, that cause you to have a different frame of mind about your life. You have the ability to decipher what is right or wrong, but it is being clouded by the one whom you are around. You need to understand that while you are in your youth, you need to seek out who God is. Are you 40, 30 or 20 and still act the same way as when you were 15? Have you grown? No. We have these issues that stem from the childhood; identity problems. Parents say “let the children be what they want to be, who they really are; themselves; we don’t believe anyone should interfere with who they want to be.” Yet the Bible says train up a child in the way they should go. Girls should be trained to be wives, and boy young men and then husbands. There is much confusion in the world. Titus 2:1-15

Children are in school more than they are at home approximately 8 hr.a day . So when they come home, they exhibit the characteristics of the one’s they been around at school the one’s that influence the most. If the teacher has a bad attitude or talks nasty to the students, then that child who is very impressionable, will mimic those bad things. So the children are subjected to the mentalities of individuals in the school out side the the one they have made friend with. So the school and there friends are raising your children to be hoodlums, homosexuals, bad attitudes, promiscuous, etc.

While in there youth, parents aren’t raising children to seek the Lord or even find out who He is. The youth which are the future generation are being destroyed and dying daily, so they can’t get chance to know or give God glory who created them.  They will  not be the next generation, that worships God in spirit with all their hearts, minds, and souls. There is a lack of genuine concern for our youth today and there right to live a human free from sin and death. As adults we need to bring the right elements around your children, so they’ll can grow up to pursue he one and only God or goals, to be better, to succeed; allow your child to be around some positive influences. Allow you children to be around someone who has a godly way of thinking.

while In your youth, pursue a mindset that goes after something that is good for you spiritually after God that is good for your soul which who you are. Don’t let allow your youth be mentored and go to wast by some family, friends, twitter, Facebook, TV, and Instagram, video games or jobs.

In conclusion, Ecclesiastes 11:8-10, 12:1

There are quite a few phrases that I use, but for this subject these three phrases speaks volumes to the truth of this matter, an they are: ” your are what you eat ”  naturally or spiritually and ”  what ever you around will always be around you ” and last ” never give up ,never surrender ”

Being Aware of Who You Are Part 1

1 John 3:1-14

In verse 2, it says we shall be like Him. What does this mean? Who is being addressed? This particular letter was not addressed to any one group, but the specific use of the phrase little children denotes that at least it was addressed to believers of the faith in Christ Jesus. Also the fact of the author addressing the reader and himself as “sons of God” further validates this. Although we do not know specifics about what we will be like, when we see Him at the appointed time, we will know.

Verses 4-6 are very significant because they define what sin is. Sin is going against the law of God. What is the law of God? The 10 Commandments given at Mount Sinai (Exodus 20:1-17) Everything else a part from the 10 is commentary on the ten. The 10 are our basis and structure for what is right and wrong in the eyes of God.

Verses 7-9 say that we should not be deceived. A person who does righteously is righteous. If sin is the transgression of the law, then living out, practicing, and doing the law is what is defined as righteousness. If we sin (break the law) we are of Satan. This is why Christ was introduced to destroy the works of Satan (sin).

This message will continue next week…until then!

Abiding in God’s Will & Word for Your Life

John 15:1-7, Psalms 121, Psalms 127

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
John 15:1-7

Abiding in Jesus means who you use to be becomes what He is now. You must do his will the way He wants you to do it. You cannot do your own things in His name, and expect Him to approve of it. Abiding in him means doing things His way.

We are creatures of impatient nature. We are always wondering when Jesus is coming. Well, He’s coming whenever he gets ready! We must have patience in waiting for his move; dealing with situations that are out of our control; in getting whats for us. He will do what He will do, when He feels you are ready.

Many times we do things out of desperation, because of our impatience. Then we go back and blame God. You have to have patience. Patience works faith. In all thy getting, get an understanding. We need as Children of God to have patience. As you abide in Him, you will learn patience. When you ask God, when you study His word, when you pray before Him, He will see your diligence and make a way for you.

He is the vine. We get our knowledge and wisdom from Him, not our own understanding. So we should wait for him. Its easy to say you can wait…until an hour goes, a day goes, a week goes. Then you start stressing, sinning. Patience will give you wisdom.

Psalm 121

When we realize our help comes form the Lord, and we abide in Him, He will give us the strength we need to go through. If we stop stressing we can hear from God, if we stop worrying we can hear from God, if we give Him our problems and stop taking them back, He can resolve all things.

Psalm 127

If you think you can build the house of God, or build your ministry, then you are not allowing God in. Only He can build His own house, only He can lead you on how to build your ministry. A ministry can’t go anywhere unless he does it, your life can’t go anywhere unless He directs it. You have to abide in Him. If you aren’t abiding in the vine, you aren’t producing fruit, therefore you must be purged.

Abide in Jesus, be obedient to His will, and trust Him in faith.
