While Caught in the Midst of Indecisiveness

Have you ever been in a situation, where the easiest decision, became the hardest one? Or maybe you were caught in the middle of an argument, where both parties were trying to get you to see their side or trying to make you feel guilty? Sometimes it might be dealing with food. You know, when it comes to that last piece of candy, cake or cookie. But one of the most profound and challenging things in this world for any human being is being indecisive in our lives! On that note, here are the most sought after answers to these four questions in are life: A. Who am I B. Why am I here C. Where do I belong D. What is my purpose.

While in search of the answer to these questions, sometimes we fall prey to others or even to ourselves. If you’re not careful, you might windup making the wrong decision. As the old saying goes, “you may windup going to the school of hard knocks.” In other words, sometimes painful and real negative experiences which lead to a lot of bad mistakes in life.

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

Proverbs 3:5-7

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

Proverbs 21:2

When you are in a state of indecisiveness, you’re leaving an open door for demonic influence, and that might cause you to make the wrong decisions for your life. Now if I can get you to just take a step back for a moment. Now think back at some of the most negative events that went wrong because of a low point in our life. Do you remember the memory that you just can’t get over? It keeps rearing its ugly head. Now just ponder over whether the outcome was good or bad. Now over the decision you made who can help you made your decision now? Do some of you see a pattern in some of your indecisiveness?

37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

Matthew 5:37

In my conclusion, you have to have a clear understanding and not be caught up in an indecisive state, because in that state there is only confusion and double mindedness.

2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. 9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: 10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. 11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. 12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

James 1:2-15

21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

1 Kings 18:21
