What Kind of Sacrifice are You Offering?

Oftentimes as we experience different situations in life, we sometimes ask ourselves, “why is that like that, or how come this happened? “What caused this problem to be that way?”

For instance, have you ever went to a bakery and you tasted one of the pastries and that pastry tasted kind of funny, like it was missing something, or you were thinking that if they had a little bit of ‘this’ type of an ingredient the pastry might taste a little better than it does now. So it stands to reason that you’ve noticed there was something that spoiled the taste of that pastry.

Well, I liken this to some of the things in our life, you know we partly do things these days. We have to do our jobs and then we wonder towards the latter part of our employment at a particular job, why didn’t I get a bonus? or why didn’t I get promoted, or things along that line. But the thing you have to ask yourself is, what have I sacrificed for this particular company to earn that promotion or to earn that raise? What have I done? If I haven’t done anything, or if I didn’t do my job properly then as the old saying goes, “you get what you deserve.” But in the House of Lord, it’s a little different. The Lord asks of us to have a pure heart, and when we make sacrifice to him, your sacrifice has to be incorruptible to him; not corruptible. Because we love him, we don’t want to give him something that is imperfect and corruptible. We want to give him something pure from our heart as possible, to be as perfect for us as human.

But as human nature will have it, we can’t do any shortcuts to God or give him not our best. Sometimes we give God a sanitized version of sacrifice, but not a true sacrifice. I guess the question remains, what type of sacrifice have you been giving God lately?

In these times, we are so quick to want everything so quick and fast just to get it out of the way, that we don’t give a pure sacrifice to the Lord – a sacrifice of our time, of our abilities, a sacrifice of our capabilities for Him. He has given us all these things for His glory, so why not return it back to him without any strings attached?

Read Malachi 1:7-14

Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the Lord is contemptible. And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the Lord of hosts. And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the Lord of hosts. 10 Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the Lord of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.11 For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts.12 But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the Lord is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.13 Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the Lord of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the Lord.14 But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the Lord of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.”

Let these words of God rest with you. When you make a sacrifice to the Lord, what is your mindset? In my conclusion, make sure sacrifice doesn’t come with strings attached. Strings can be attitude, jealousy, envy, hatred, selfishness, and anger.

In Yeshua’s name, it is so.

Don’t Let Your Arms fall to Your Enemies

Exodus 17: 6-12

Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the Lord, saying, Is the Lord among us, or not? Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim. And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand. So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. AAnd Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. And the Lord said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi: For he said, Because the Lord hath sworn that the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

Numbers 21: 4-9

And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.  And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.  And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord, and against thee; pray unto the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

The Lord will not lead you in the middle of no place and say start your ministry yourself. If He led you to start a ministry, He will not let you flip the bill all by yourself. He won’t leave you stranded so your arms fall to your side and you give up. That is not what He is about, He’s not going to do that. The Children of Israel didn’t understand that. The only reason they confessed their sins was because they knew they dogged God and Moes out. If nothing had ever happened, they would still have complained. God sent the fiery serpents and when they began killing them they repented. They got off light. Like us, we get off light with all kinds of stuff, because we do things the way we feel, but the Lord does not kill us. They had a selfish mentality acting like they were someone but they were nobody. They complained about everything. They complained about the things they suffered in Egypt and complained out in the wilderness. Now the one who saved you, you complained to because there is no food. That sounds like some people in the Church “I’ve given you my money, now what have you done with it?” The same people that say they have not food, their utilities about to be shut off, but every time there was time for an offering, you put nothing in a quarter or dollar, but you come to the church asking for a hundred times of that complaining that you can’t get any help. Maybe all the time you were in the Chruch, you put a total of maybe $100 dollars for the year, but you come to the church and say I can’t pay my house bill, utility bill, car note, I have no clothes or food. If the Church was a bank, they wouldn’t give you anything, because $100 is nothing compared to what your needs are. Your needs are always in the hundreds of dollars if not thousands. And you who only put a $100 in the church have the audacity to complain and wine that the church is not helping you. If the Church gives you back your $100, then you really have put nothing into the Church. The church is not for this, but to help the community and the people in it. Not all the money the church takes in is not for you. You’re supposed to be out doing service, we are helpers on to another. If the help is only on one side, then you kind of wonder, are your hands still raised or fallen to the side, and now your own the begging list. Stop your complaining, stop your whining, support the house of God so that your fellow brothers of sisters of the body of God needs will be met. That don’t mean I gave $1000 so I should be able to come back to the church x number of times until that money is used up. This is what the Church has become, people have made it into a bank and then throw a scripture in your face saying that’s what the church is for, to meet your needs. If everyone had needs

This is what the Church has become, people have made it into a bank and then throw a scripture in your face saying that’s what the church is for, to meet your needs. If everyone had needs on the same time, there would be no money, and if there are not finances to give the people, they’d get made with the Pastor, accuse him and say he didn’t deal properly with the money. They become like the Children of Israel because their personal needs weren’t met. Instead of finding a solution they bring a problem, and when the problem was not resolved, they begin to bad mouth the Lord and His leader. This is what the church has come to today.  We have to realize that if we continue to whine and complain to the Lord about what we don’t have and what we want and start calling Him names and His men of God names, don’t be surprised if the Lord sends a fiery serpent in your home. That fiery serpent could be a disease, financial devastation, murder, whatever. Just be concerned not the complain and whine. The Lord already knows what we have need of. We get our needs confused with our wants and then try to explain our wants as our needs. The Bible says how long halt you between two opinions? If God be God serve Him if mamon service him. You can’t serve two masters and expect to be an active child ofGodd.
