Because of so many options in the world today, along with their emotional attachments, our hearts are endlessly persuaded to other people’s points of view, even when we don’t have a clear understanding of the matter at hand. So many times, we’ll rely on blind faith in that person over our reason. So we base our logic and understanding and wisdom on our misguided, emotional, blind faith. This would explain in some ways why we do the things we do. There is a saying I often use: “It’s the choices we make that determine our position and end in this life,” and where our souls will spend eternity. The Bible tells us that everything is good in our own eye. The Word of God also says this:
1 Corinthians 13:12, 12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. All of us at one time has looked through a glass darkly but now we should see through that glass clearly, that your hope want turn into is just hopelessness.
Proverbs 18:21 says, 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
You hear many times people say things like, “Don’t speak that into existence,” or “Only speak what you know and testify what you see.”
John 3:11 says, 11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
Also, 2 Thessalonians 2:9-13 adds, 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
So there is one question you need to ask yourself: Who’s report do you believe?
The Word of God is telling you in Proverbs 14:12-17, 12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. 13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness. 14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself. 15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going. 16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident. 17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
Proverbs 21:2-6 also says, 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts. 3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. 4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin. 5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want. 6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
