How Far Are You in This World or is the World in You?

One might ask, “When am I in the world or of the world?” The Bible states that so a man thinks in his heart so is he. How many people hear the sound of my word today with a stable mind and heart which is not controlled by their emotions? Have you ever begun speaking with someone and noticed that as you were speaking they looked to be preoccupied with something else on their mind? It’s almost as though the lights are on, but no one is home. Sometimes I believe the Lord looks at us this way as well. We are sometimes so preoccupied with self that we can not hear His voice or see Him moving in situations or in the atmosphere.

9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. 11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. 13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? 14 The sower soweth the word. 15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended. 18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

Mark 4:9-19

In these verses when you’re preoccupied with things in your life, you may inadvertently tune out Christ. When He tries to talk to you with the simple things, if you’re preoccupied with your life, how will you ever hear Him in the deep things? You see, when you have locked yourself into this world, you won’t know how deeply rooted into the world you are.

What does it read in the 19th verse again of Mark 4? “And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.”

Not with standing you might want to ask yourself how far have you gone or how far are you willing to go in this world?

3 Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat. 4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. 5 Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven 6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats: 7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

Proverbs 23:3-7

You have to remember Christ wasn’t of this world and neither should we be (John 17:16.) With the advent of so many things going on in our lives these days, where does your hope and treasure lie?

30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. 31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. 33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. 34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Matthew 12:30-35

Always know an understand this, if your more preoccupied with this life and the cares of what going on around you, then ask how far am I in?

Caught in the Indecision of Circumstance

Why do we set ourselves up for failure, knowing that if we follow the same steps or patterns as last time, we’re going to get the very same results? Are we gluttons for abuse and pain or do we just like being in a mess? Is there something lacking or missing in our lives, as a Child of Jesus Christ (Yahweh)? I believe that being on the cusp of our life in this world, not of this would, not willing to let go of what this world has to offer in its ways of short term gratification, for surface desires, has brought us to a dilemma in our growth and understanding concerning who we are as a people of the One and only true God of the Bible. In some cases for instance, in our society we’re taught to go to the higher learning institutions so that we can gain a better understanding of the world around us. Yet while you’re there, you’re professors are teaching their philosophy on what they have been through by someone else, with a little of their life experience thrown in. So we accept their teaching without question, because we don’t know the answer ourselves. So as we where taught, we begin to mimic our professors, even reciting some of the same stories and situations he or she expressed. We do this with such fervor as though our professors were actually there reciting their words as though they were our own words, and repudiating anyone that begged to disagree.

We express it as though we’re the authority as our professor did with us while we were in school. Don’t ask a question on something in our field. Our chest pumps up, the hands go up and the gestures ensue, and we mimic what our professors taught us. Why? I ask again WHY do we accept their understanding as though it were from God? I say to them who don’t know much of anything: a little understanding of something has added more to your knowledge and understanding of anything. The little knowledge you’ve gain from them has made you puff up with knowledge, because you have something someone else doesn’t have. That is why doctors have that God complex. They go to school 8-12 years plus, then they do residency. We tend to see that they’ve spent their life in a profession for years and they are knowledgeable in their field. To the hearer who doesn’t know what those huge words are, they’re amazed. They have a god complex because they can diagnose what is going on with you, and you trust their word unconditionally. Just like your professor, whose words you accepted without questions. Why do we get caught up with indecision and mess, plus confusion in most areas of this life?

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2 Peter 1:3-4

We stand in the mist of a mess, having a decision of whether or not to step out of the mess. “What am I going to do? Should I stay in the mess?” He has given you the knowledge and understanding that you’re in a mess. If you’re a child and you just messed on yourself, and its all around your feet, what do you do? You cry out to Mom, dragging the mess along with you. Isn’t that what we do? We’re in a mess and drag it all along with us where were we go, instead of stepping out of it and wiping it off. Realize this, if you didn’t get the understanding of something earlier in your life, it will pop up later, in some way or fashion. That is why the Word of God says in all thy getting get and understanding, because if you don’t you’ll experience a situation in your life you never would have experienced had you gotten corrected from the beginning. In every situation they didn’t have someone to tell them which direction to go, and so they choose whatever their heart lead them to. The professor tells you something that you don’t know about, which you don’t question because you just don’t know! So the little kids don’t know what is right and wrong. That’s is why it takes a parent who has their head on straight to correct those things in their life earlier on before it effects them later on. So if you don’t answer the questions when little children have them, later on you’ll see the results of it. When they get older they began to act out what is was wrong, having not had a pure source of understanding when they were younger. Then we are the people who were suppose to know better say “that’s sins, that’s sin!” Where were you when they were going through, and had questions about life? Were you pushing them away? They were asking you a life question, because it would determine what their life would be afterwards. Have you ever asked someone a life question but didn’t get the answer you wanted? Its amazing to me that everyone wants to have children, but don’t want to properly raise them. The Word of God tells us clearly, train up a child in the way he or she should go so when they get older, they won’t depart. If you don’t correct it in the beginning, they’ll get results later on. That is why we have so many problems with kids today. Kids think its a style to sag, or roll one pant leg up; this is all prison behaviour, and not a style, but a statement. Do you realize most things we do in our life today are based on statements? As we walk into it people associate us with that statement and everything connected to it. No one ever told you better. The Bible tells us very clearly, when I was a child I acted like a child, talked like a child, operated like a child, but when I became a woman or man, by the choices of what someone told me, I began to act like a man or act like a woman. Someone’s signal got twisted, and they are living that life of homosexuality or lesbianism. It didn’t just come on them. Something happened in your life earlier on that caused you to make that decision based on someone else’s principles. Just as you heard from the professor his principles and take at face value his teaching, because you paid money to sit in his class.

You’re whole life is based on theories from other people. First of all you go to grade school. What is the important thing of grade school? Its how to interact with other students, different than you. Kindergarten is for one thing: to know that there are other little people like you, so its ok to be you. So why do we go to high school? So that we can build relationships and interact with people like us, knowing how to build our personalities; to mold you into something you weren’t before. Tagging on to when you were into grade school, tagging on to kindergarten. So what are college and university for? Global. To teach you how to exist in a global environment with people of different nationalities and tongues, to be able to work with them. So when you go to school, your professors tell you how to get along with people who are not like you. Learning a particular subject in school is immaterial. You can become the greatest of your profession, but if you have no people skills, you are worth zero. School has a 4 point system to help introduce you to an environment that you were not use to, so your life can exist among other human beings like you. David said I once was young, and now I’m old, but there is one thing I can say. I’ve never seen the people of God going hungry nor their children begging on the side of the street. What does that tell you? Someone got some teaching and training other than by our normal school system. The Word of God is to be listened to, put into your mind, to get an understanding, and operate there in your life through it. We are so studious and concerned about our professors and classes, making sure nothing gets in the way of us getting to them on time. We’ve paid money and know we need the credit hours from that class, right? Yet when God tries to get our attention, He says He’s given us the knowledge and understanding about everything; its right at your finger tips. What is it? Your phone, your tablet which has the Word of God on it. How we long for things and pay attention to things that are not good for our lives to the point that Christ fades out of our lives. When you were in the professors class, you heard every word he said, even when he got on your nerves, taking it as though he were the authority of God. We gave our professors the utmost attention. Do you not know that today in the house of God, your paying to listen to me? You don’t have a dime to give, but your paying with your life. Its a free enrollment. You can take notes, and get all the data about how to live according to life and Godliness, and its free! Do you know what undivided attention is? Just like the professor in school, you’re getting what God wants you to have. Be about Gods business, not yours. If we could only follow God’s word like we have for our professors in life we would have a totally different walk in this world.

The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

John 20:25

But we’ll take the word of a professor and listen to everything without questioning it. But you’re fellow Saint in the church who has an upstanding background, a disciple of Christ, working with you, you won’t believe. “Until I can put my hand in His side.” We do that sometimes. We miss out on things that God has for our lives because we need to “get it first.” We miss things in our lives because it has to come to us personally. Where would your life be if you’d not walked out on faith then? God is not with us as a fleshly being, but He has said in His Word to do this, do that and this to go back to the Kingdom. Some of us today say they can’t believe it because….”I wasn’t there.” This has been us as the Children of God.

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Matthew 6:24-25

Some of us will cry out “Lord I can’t pay my bill, Lord I don’t have enough.” He says one things to us, you but need to ask and it shall be given. Don’t struggle, ask. Whatever God has for you its waiting on you. The way you get it is through you. You need to clean up who you are so God can bless you. But you complain that sister so and so or brother so and so has this, and you’ve been in the Church for so long, why don’t you have it too? What happened to the stage where you just fall on your knees and say “Father I love You, I appreciate You for everything You’ve done for me, and if you don’t do anything else for me You’ve done enough for me. I’m not asking for anything, I just want to give You glory, for you deserve it.”

What Does Jesus Need to do to Breakthrough to You?

In the Word of God, we say we understand, but we still do what we do. When people look at you, what do they see? Do they see the real you or a mirror image of what’s in you or on you? A lot of times spirits see spirits. If people look at you and see a spirit on you, they aren’t looking at you but the spirit that is controlling you. When you look in the mirror what do you see? Not what you’re wearing. What do you see when you look at you? Think about Michael Jackson’s song, Man in the Mirror. “I’m looking at the man in mirror. I’m asking him to change his ways.” He took a good clear look at himself. Have you ever taken a good clear look at yourself? What we usually see is what we’ve done in the past or what we’re going through. Maybe what people say about us. We tend to take that upon ourselves that they say “I’m this or that,” and you look in the mirror and say “is that who I really am?” After that we begin to do a self evaluation of our worth, tearing down the real us and say that couldn’t be me.

Snow white. The wicked queen sent her troops out to find the mirror. Mirror, mirror on the wall who’s the most beautiful woman of them all? You aren’t the most. There is one more beautiful. Snow White. The wicked queen sent someone out to kill her niece, but Snow White survived. The wicked queen in actuality was the ugliest one of all.

When we look in the mirror it will show us who we are. It can’t show your inside but will only reflect the outside. We stand before a mirror so we can be presentable before others because we’re concerned about what others think about how we look. During the 1970s and 1980s there was an opening of hearts and minds of people, dressing how they want, looking how they want. When I was growing up you had to look neat and dress properly. They didn’t believe in sagging, we only knew that was something that came from prison, because you only sagged to let another man know you were a woman. Why are young men sagging now? Its a style now to let other people see your underwear. Men need the companionship and intimacy of a woman, and when you lock and cage them up, they begin to revert to being dogs, mating with anything they can mate with. He tends to change the weakest man in there and converts him to be a woman in his eyes. He expects that man to be a woman to him, not to anyone else, just to him. If you can’t defend yourself against a bunch of men, they will try to kill you to convert you. Once you have become docile as a man, if you know anything about male dogs/wolves, they will turn their hind section to a dominate male, letting them know that they’re submissive. This happens in prison. You are no longer who you are. If young men out here are sagging, if you walk like a duck, talk like a duck, what are you? A duck. If you do what the world does, if your lifestyle is like the world then how are the people in the world going to perceive you?

But pastor I only do a little bit of it. What is that saying? Pastor I drink a little alcohol, but that doesn’t make me an alcoholic. I only go to the bar because they have good pretzels and chips. If you go into the bar drink a little beer and another saint comes by and sees you coming out the bar, what will they say? Nothing to you. The Bible says don’t let your good be evil spoken of. If you are not a crackhead, why do you have a spoon in your hand with a lighter?

What does Jesus need to do to break through to you, because its you who is doing what you are doing. If you look like the world, act like the world, talk like the world…the what are you? Of the world. We have to be excited about mimicking after Jesus not this world. Does this world have a heaven for you, or a place you can go not to worry about pain and anguish? The Bible says, mark yourself after the perfect One. Mark yourself after your Lord and Savior. A lot of the modern day people have people they like in sports, but when they begin to become idols then there is a problem.

All of a sudden you start living you life according to the broken bits and pieces of how others and you feel. Sometimes you’ll do things without ever really noticing, living your life according to what someone said about you or talked about you. When you live your life according to the world’s word, and not according to the Word of God, then you take on the responsibilities of the world. The Word becomes 2nd place in your life. The Bible tells us that by their fruits they will know them. What does a Christian really look like? Are you a Christian? Are you living the life of a Child of the most High God? The Bible says there is no name under heaven given where by men must, no probably, must be saved, except the name of Jesus Christ because He’s the One who died for our sins. How long halt you between 2 opinions? Either you’ll be a Child of God or child of the world.

What does God need to do to breakthrough to you? What does He need to do? What does He need to do to get you to do what you’re suppose to do and live for Him? Does He have to beat you up in every trial and every test, every time you turn around your going through? How many remember the song I Surrender All? “I surrender all, all to thee my blessed saviour.” When we say surrender all we don’t really understand what that means. A lot of times we surrender all or bits or pieces. We’re suppose to say all but we do some of the time. All means everything. All. That means your problems, your finances, your emotional situation, it means all. Because He can fix it all.

Ecclesiastes 7:10-25

Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this.Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun. For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked? In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him. All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness. Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself ? Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time? It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all. Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city. For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee: For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others. All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me. That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out? I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness:

1 Samuel 16:1 And the Lord said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.”How long will you mourn Saul?” Is someone caught in the past?

1 Samuel 16:2-3 And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the Lord said, Take an heifer with thee, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the Lord. And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will shew thee what thou shalt do: and thou shalt anoint unto me him whom I name unto thee.

Israel needs a replacement king. Most were thinking it would fall underneath the lineage, staying all in the family of Saul. But the Lord said it would come out of one of Jesse’s sons. When you’re going through something and God is trying to promote you, He will take you from among everyone else. It could be family friends…He will take you out of them because you’re not like…them. So He pulls you out. I’m not saying that they are not believing in God, but He pulls you out because you’re not like them.

1 Samuel 16:4-7 And Samuel did that which the Lord spake, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Comest thou peaceably? And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the Lord: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice. And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the Lord‘s anointed is before him. But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

When God gets ready to promote you to something, He’ll push them all away from around you. Because its you that He wants, because you are going to take care of the mission. He saw something in you that He didn’t see in them. God will wait for your time to be who you are in Him, and He will push everybody else aside. No matter how much you may fight it. When there is a great call on your life, God is going to direct you.

1 Samuel 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward.

Romans 8:30-39

Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Shall your headache, health, problems, circumstances? What shall separate you from His love?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What does Jesus need to do to get through to you? Nothing. He doesn’t have to do anything to break through to you. Who can open the door to a building if you have the key? You need to unlock the door to your heart and let God come in freely. If you can’t unlock the door, He will never get in. So you need to take you out of the equation. Amen.
