Sometimes as humans and even as Christians, we try to place our desires as God’s will for our lives, to satisfy the need to fulfill our individual lust of this walk in life, baring no form of common sense. At any time in your life have you ever wanted something so bad, that you would do just about anything to get it? Or maybe, you had made up in your mind that if things in your life do go the way you planned, that you would do all you could or whatever it took to make things happen the way you believe they should be; that you began to damage all around you to the point where the situation changed for the worse? Like anything in life, as the old quote from Theodore Roosevelt reads: “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain and difficulty.”
Luke 6:43-45 says:
43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
For most people in society today, all have one this one major problem: lack of or no patience. As I said earlier, anything worth having is worth waiting for. For instance if you want something from the Lord then you need to wait on it.
Romans 12:1-17
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is
that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of
himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; 8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in
tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. 14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high
things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
You must understand that we can’t allow this world to define who we are in life. As Saints, we must not allow our life and walk as a Christian to be associated with the world’s understanding or interpretation of what a Christian is.
1 John 2:15-17
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
In my conclusion: My challenge and question to you is who is defiling you now?
Mark 7:15 says, There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
Also Mark 8:27 states, And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?
Who do people say you are?
