God Created You But what Have You Created?

Did He not make us creatures after Him? We create things, but what have we created? It has never ceased to amaze me how we use our words to shape who we are and the world around us. John 1:1, In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God, the same was in the beginning with God. Words are powerful. If you change a word in a statement that will make it either null or void, powerful or not, impactful or not. Its the words that you say that changes people. You change your situation by the words you say. We always in some form or another use these phrases: “I can’t,” “Its too hard,” “well…” “Maybe tomorrow,” “I can’t believe that,” and “Nah.” Have you ever heard the term “you a lie?” There are other words and phrases out there that we have come to adopt for ourselves that have become signature statements for ourselves and these are usually negative. The word or phrase has changed us; hindered us to the point where we don’t even know who we really are, or what we could have become. Jesus was trying to make it a point about us and tell us a good thing, we always make a counter statement to what He said we are.

1 John 3:1-3

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

My Dad use to always tell me “we’re living beneath our privilege.” But we demand of God to answer our wants. I didn’t say needs, I said wants. Know this. What does the word, appear, mean to you? It does not physically show in your face what He’s trying to do to us and for us. You can’t see it, I can’t, no one can see it. He knows, because He’s trying to do it to you. What are you going to present before Christ? A jacked up vessel, filthy, dirty? Its just like having a glass of water, and the glass is filthy and dirty with stains and finger prints, and you give it to someone. Are they going to drink it? No! How you think you will appear before God offering the vessel you have? Will it be pure and clean, or dirty with the stains of sins and mindsets? You want to be a vessel that stands before the Lord, and you feel clean. Not like Adam who hid himself.

The Word says we are more than conquers. But we argue with Jesus. It goes something like this: Jesus said in Romans 8:37 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Then you reply, “But I can’t.” Then Jesus says “I have made you the head and not the tail.” The Lord says that we are more than a conqueror. “Lord I’ve been battling with this sickness for over 7 years.” You’ve said it correctly, YOU’VE been battling. As long as you’ve been battling, you won’t win. Its not by your power or might, but by His power and might. All is done through Him.

Deuteronomy 28:1-13

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out. The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways. The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in his ways. And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee. And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee. The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

He says all this and we go “Nah!” Do you realize that is an argument? He’s telling us what we are and we’re telling Him what we can’t do. He knows our thoughts, our capabilities, who we are what we are why we did. He knows everything about you, and when He says that we can do a certain thing…we can do it!

Proverbs 23: 7

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

The way a man thinks so is he. So if you think you can’t do anything guess what? You can’t do anything. Now, the Lord has told you what you can and has esteemed you so, and people will look at you strange because of all the blessings in you. Then you look at the Lord and say “No, I can’t.” If you have that spirit in you, then you won’t do it. People always say they are more the conquers, but inside they don’t feel that way. Do you know the first thing you have to do when you’re walking 100 miles? Make the first step. The first process in doing something is to step out on it. Just do it. To never have to go out and do it means you never would have known if you could have. When I said earlier, we have shaped who we are from all the words and phrases and catchy things that we say, that our world around us is not ever real its a make-belief world. How many are positive thinkers? How many live up to the positive thinking? I can say positive things more so than I can walk them out. I can say it better than I can do it. But Christ said, you can do all things through Him which strengthens you.

When you look at it from this standpoint…the negative words you’ve incorporated into your lifestyle: “I don’t believe in myself,” “No,” “I can’t…” If you don’t believe in you, who will believe in you? Christ tried to tell us we need to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. How can you transform something that you don’t even know what it is? How will you transform something when you don’t know what to transform. Who are you really? Think about the composites of things in your life that have been said to you, the surroundings you’ve been around, the people you’ve been around. See if you think like the people you’ve been around, or mimic the surroundings you been around. People are shaping your world. Then who are you really? Are you a composite of what everyone else says? Is that the real you? Your life has been lead where you have been living a conglomerate of people’s thoughts, ways and actions. You can’t even be you because you don’t even know who you are? That is an indictment. People say “I know you.” But you don’t even know you. People say “I know what you like,” but you don’t even know what you like. Why do you think the Lord says transformed? The only way that will happen is if you give up everything people say what you are. It may not be easy or comfortable, its the unknown, its new territory.

If you’re not comfortable with you…how many are comfortable with yourself? Do people like you? Does it really matter if they like you? If it does then you need to rethink you. The only one that should matter is what God thinks about you. I don’t like you because of your clothes, your hair, your feet, I don’t like anything about you. We try to re-position, reorganize, reset up ourselves to do what? To please them so they won’t bother or worry us anymore about it. Then when we comply to what they want, then our lives can go on from that point? What have you created? God created you? Did you recreate you? Who are you really? I thought I’ve been knowing you for the last 10, 20 years? But who are you. This is what we’re struggling with today, the loss of our identity. If we’re not secure in who we are, we can’t hear the thoughts of others because you’ll assume their thoughts. This is the problem that we suffer. We don’t know who we are in Christ, but we go around acting like we do.

Words are powerful. The world was created by words. You were created by words. So when you use words, you can create things you wish you’d never created. Words are powerful. Never forget that. That is why we are continually in battle with ourselves. We’re constantly fighting ourselves. Why? Someone is trying to maintain dominance.

Proverbs 16:25

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

We think that what we’re doing is the correct way. But is it correct according to who we are or the garbage we’ve brought in? For example, you like peanut butter. Is that because someone else you like, likes peanut butter? Why do you do the things you do? Is it because of a learned behavior?

Proverbs 6: 2

Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.

You hang your own self. “I can’t do that” “Nah,” “Maybe,” “I’ll do it tomorrow.” Is it a lie or the truth? What does that do? Is it a lie or truth? The Bible says testify of what you know and see, don’t testify of someone else mistakes. You don’t know the full story, but you will reap the ramifications of it.

Phiippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

You can do all things. You can do all things. You can do all things. Through Christ. Which strengthens. Not by your might nor by your power. God is telling us this: “Could you shut up and listen to Me? I told you before, in My word is Life, and My Life brings light to you. Why can’t you believe the words that I say? Why would you believe anyone else over Me? My words have life. Do you choose life or death?” The Lord tells us this, but we argue with Him. We say that can’t be right. We can’t do all things. He is saying, any trial situation, or anything that comes upon us we can do it, and go through it. He gave us the strength to do. Why? Because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. He gave us the power to be overly wealthy and all the things pertaining to godliness and righteousness. We wonder why we can’t go further in Christ, because we’ve adopted a mindset that we can’t do what He gave us the power to do.

Its time for us to just shut up and stop talking to God the way we’ve been talking to Him. “Lord, You know the real me, help me to know the real me so I can worship You properly and not via someone else. Lord who is the real me? It’s been a long time since I’ve known the real me.” Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. How do you renew your mind? Some of the old Saints use to say “Some of the old places I use to go, I don’t go to anymore, the things I use to do, I don’t do anymore.” You know how you can find out who the real you is? Change your environment. Does that mean you’ll have to move out of your neighborhood? In some cases yes. Because you need “you time.” I don’t mean to sit there and bath yourself in the oils of the ancients, and the fragrance of the old, but sit there before Christ, quietly, and let the Lord get a word in. Let Him say something to your soul. Let Him console you. How do you do that. When you’re alone by yourself, the way you use to do things, change it. Don’t even think about it, just do it. What do you need to do? Stop, put the breaks on. What do you do in real life at a red light? Stop. Abruptly. “Lord you say that I’m more than a conqueror, but I’m this and I’m that. My eyes are open but I’m still blind.” That is because you don’t know who you are. You want someone to accept you for who you are and you don’t even know who you are? You meet your mate and you say to them “I want you to love me for who I am,” but I don’t know who I am. This is what we do to the Lord. “Lord I want you to love me for who I really am, but I have all this mess in me.” The Lord loves you, but not the mess hanging off of you. You don’t even love you. How do you want the Lord to love you when you don’t love you.

Static cling. You need static guard. Your static guard is the Word of God, so when you go out into the world, the world doesn’t stick to you. Isn’t it amazing how we allow things to stick on us, and we carry it as a badge of honor? Think about this: why do we continue taking upon the mindset of others and taking it as our own? We are condemned by every word that comes out of our mouths. The Bible says that we will give account of every word, every loose statement that comes out from us. Let your words be few. Be quick to be silent and slow to speak.

Matthew 12:37

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

What have you created? Would God be proud of you for what you have become? Would He be? Could you stand before Him proudly and say “Lord I did just what You told me.” When people like Enoch walked with God people marveled. Moses walked on holy ground, and forgot before he got there, coming up with dirty sandals. It would behoove us not to argue with God. If the Lord says that He’s given you everything pertaining to life and godliness, accept it. Why can’t we accept it? Because we’re carrying all the mess from what someone else turned us into. When do we stop and say I need to know me before I can deal with you? Why do you think people take long sabbaticals in the mountains? They don’t know who they are. Don’t live for the expectation of others, but for the expectation of what God created you to be. He created you so uniquely that the angels in heaven marvel at who you are. It does not yet appear what we shall be, but we will when He returns because we’ll see Him as He is. We’re more than just conquerors. But your biggest conquer, is conquering you. Conquering you.
